Long Time No Sea.

For me, it was a wide open blue space, unknown fields and gates of unknown kingdoms with pearls and mythological creatures, but still, the best place to sit alone and feel warm inside my cold body, to sit and dream and dream and dream, till I'm awakened by their warm hoarse voices singing.
Straw wide hats were hiding most of their grey hair, brunette wrinkles were drawn upon their faces every time they smiled back to the sea.
The sea smiled to them every time he saw them coming towards him with their fishnets and their lunch-time sandwiches made by their loving wives,
The sea loved them, and blew kisses on their old boats, and on their old bodies, as they were singing an old song telling how much they loved the sea, while pulling their gears towards the shore in one rhythm and one will.
An old song that only they and the sea knew, it was as old as the sea, as old as the proud rocks that cuddled the sea with every tide, as old as their home-made wine.
It was very old, unlike that young woman that walked there elegantly in her long gown, with a basket on her head hiding her henna-dyed hair, her face was purer than snow, and her lips were prettier than an April's well-grown red apple.
The sea loved her too, and approached to dance by her feet shyly, as the lady smiled at one of the young men assuring that she is still totally his, her eyes were asking him not to be jealous of the almighty sea, but he couldn’t help it through his fire-like heart beats.
They all pack, and go back home, except for the sea, that stays there waiting patiently for their singing the next day.
They all go back home to freeze the fishies, and send them over to Damascus, to let the ungrateful me have a frozen fish meal on dinner which I didn’t quite enjoy as much as I enjoyed these spontaneous images within my head.

"I simply just miss the sea" would have described perfectly my whole craving but still I've chosen to write all of this nonsense.
